It Makes You Forget is a poetic collection of contemporary fashion photography. Through including unconditional ways of portraying the subjects, Kööp is combining fashion with art in his work. The series also explores the psychology of colours and the idea of mixing the surreal and the familiar. The use of fabrics and other material challenge the individual and also provide a look at the basics of fashion design. Kööp uses a cheap 35mm film camera with a built-in flash to not distance the work from the everyday. This visual aesthetic is also a representation of Kööp’s personal feeling, as he often feels distant from everyday life and struggles to form lasting connections. The body of work is an exploration of real and fake. Photography allows the artist to forget the deficiency of his personality.
